About

“PP” stands for Phungi Phantasy. A nickname born from my childhood, then later adopted as my artist’s moniker. It honors both the whimsy of childhood, and the transformation of growing. “-mycota” is the Latin root word for mycology, the study of fungi. Together, they spawn the world of ppmycota, where mysticism meets ecology, fantasy meets science and jewelry becomes a conduit for spiritual connection- a living expression of the fungal divine.

Born in the forests of Eastern North Carolina and inspired by years of study, grief, wonder, and whimsy, ppmycota is rooted in reverence for the Kingdom Fungi, with its alchemical power to transform decay into beauty, death into new life.

Inspired by my childhood spent frolicking in the woodlands, gathering fairy bonnets, feathers and forest treasures, shaped by the grief and growth of my years, ppmycota is both a love letter to fungi and a spiritual practice of transmutation. This art began as a way to cope with loss, a ritual of finding meaning through transformation.

Each piece is crafted with real mushrooms and adorned with silver, pearls, gemstones, fossils, shells, and other forest findlings; wearable relics that blur the line between fantasy and reality, life and death. Every piece is designed to awaken a sense of otherworldly connection- to spirit, to self and to the magic of Mother Nature.

Fungi are ubiquitous, but mushrooms are ephemeral; much like the relationship between our spirit and our physical form. Mushrooms are my muses: angels of decay, architects of rebirth and portals to a deeper way of seeing. With every piece, ppmycota channels the strange, sacred hum of the forest floor into talismans to enchant and empower.

This is jewelry as devotion, a celebration of death and decay, rebirth, softness and survival.

Adorn yourself with ppmycota, and you don’t have to imagine being a fae, a forest creature, or a spirit of the wild. You already are. Become a Phungi Phaerie today!
